Our project is the "first stone" to build an argan industry here and provide opportunity for many others. We envision this region thriving economically and drawing many from the center to live here.
It is exactly these trees grown as a cash crop that will truly benefit this area. We can save precious water, do something for the environment and create plenty for a neglected region all at the same time.

Argan has been grown here for over 25 years as a research crop with great success! In the words of Dr. Elaine Solowey at the Arava Institute:
"The argania has been domesticated, much has been learned about vegetative propagation of exceptional trees and varieties have been established. By simple selection the average yield has been raised from 10 kilos per tree to over 80 kilos per tree. The crop is drought resistant, tolerant of saline water, heat and cold and is therefore provides a good crop candidate to replace high water use cultivars in Israel, a place that often deals with water crises. The site of Yoni and Shoshana Rappeport's project is a place where Argania spinosa should grow well."
This is a project that will provide others jobs in retail, production, agriculture, ecotourism, spas, research, food preparation etc. if others also plant argan here. There is much good that can be done. We have jumped in and will be successful so that others may follow.
Your participation is welcome! Our indiegogo campaign was a succesful start- the trees do have further needs. If you would like to invest please contact us at: arganhanegev@gmail.com
Want to be a part of our project with a small contribution? We are grateful!
